HORMONAL BALANCE

When We Are On Hormones

Today I know that at the age of 44, I was already in pre-menopause. At the time, I thought I was pregnant. I would have welcomed another child (I’m a mother of three now-grown daughters), but even the pregnancy test confirmed that I was not pregnant.

Nevertheless, I was searching for a book that would guide me through nutrition during hormonal changes.

There are “time bombs” stored in our bodies, waiting to be triggered—especially in people who are sensitive to sugar. These time bombs often show up as intense cravings for carbohydrates, which can lead to sudden weight gain.

I gained weight for the first time during puberty, the second time during each pregnancy. And when I even thought about gaining weight uncontrollably again, I decided to write a book about hormones.

Because once we understand hormonal changes throughout life—and especially the hunger hormone insulin—everything becomes much simpler.

DID YOU KNOW THAT?

• Cells “lock themselves” when you try to lose weight by eating less?
Healthy weight loss works completely differently…

• Vitamin E is known as the vitamin of youth?
It supports skin regeneration and protects cells from aging.

• The mucous membrane in the mouth and esophagus needs 2–3 months to fully recover after a cold?
This is a key part of your immune resilience.

• White spots on your nails indicate a mineral deficiency?
Your body is signaling that it needs natural vitamins and minerals.

• Herpes is often the first sign of a weakened immune system?
Your immune system always speaks to you.

• You can turn back time and rejuvenate your body?
Antioxidants help restore youth from within.

• B vitamins support some of the most important functions in the entire body?
They are essential for energy, nerves, skin, and metabolism.

• Carotenoid compounds play a vital role in eye protection?
These natural pigments from fruits and vegetables nourish your vision.

Minerals are vital for your hormonal balance

Minerals activate cell metabolism and help with the feeling of hunger

Even though we promise ourselves to eat more healthy food, we are most lacking in the essential nutrients when we need them the most. Stress, both emotional and physical, exhausts our mineral stores. As a result, on days when everything is upside down, we reach for something sweet.

Calcium helps in detoxification and in the decomposition of fats

Calcium is the most present mineral in our body. It is an essential mineral, necessary for the solidity of the skeleton and teeth, as well as for a good physical and mental state. Calcium is the main building block and important for the functioning of muscles, the heart and nerves. It prevents high blood pressure and helps with blood coagulation. If we consume too little with our food, our body starts taking it from our bones, which results in weakened collagen in our bones.

Warning signs of a calcium deficiency:

  • insomnia,

  • muscle cramps,

  • back ache,

  • palpitations,

  • muscle twitching and aches,

  • bad body odour,

  • weak nails,

  • osteoporosis,

  • mental instability.

Brittle bones (osteoporosis) cannot be noticed on the skin or felt in any other way. We only become aware of it when we break a bone. This is why it is important that we consume a sufficient amount of calcium every day – approximately 1200 mg – around 1 l of milk, 1 l of yogurt and some cheese and vegetables. But because we know that we do not consume all this, we have to ensure that our body gets the amount it needs on a daily basis.

Functions of calcium:

  • Calcium binds acids and turns them into salts. They are excreted via the kidneys and bladder. When we are short of calcium, our body becomes acidified. This is why calcium plays an important role in protection against cancer – particularly large intestine cancer.

  • Calcium reduces gastric acid.

  • Calcium is required for the renewal of the brain’s myelin sheath. People who are short of calcium immediately notice this by their mental instability.

  • Calcium increases the binding of vitamin B12, which ensures the binding of all the other B group vitamins.

  • Calcium plays a part in the metabolism of iron.

  • Calcium is needed for the transfer of nerve impulses – if there is not enough calcium, you find it difficult to remember certain things and you have a very low patience threshold.

When We Are On Hormones

My readers are mainly women who want to understand their bodies, transform them, and feel healthy and satisfied in their own skin.

With the book When We Are on Hormones, even women who had long given up hope—and who may be carrying more than 50 kilos of excess weight—can successfully lose weight.

In Slovenia, a woman named Alda lost weight from 140 kilos to 68 kilos—she released an incredible 72 kilos of excess body fat.

The first step toward change is our inner dialogue. If we repeat statements we don’t truly believe, we actually create even more stress at the cellular level than if we said nothing at all. That’s why, in the first chapter, I included affirmations that we can believe:

  • I allow my body to transform.

  • I accept healing.

  • I am aware that my body is capable of renewal and transformation—simply because I allow myself to love and value who I am.

Life is beautiful. Life is wonderful.

No matter the obstacles we face, no matter the difficult lessons life brings us, life is still beautiful.

I believe in the power of positive energy. Hormones connect our emotions, thoughts, and body. When we understand this, we realize that we have influence—especially over what we focus on and how we think.

That’s why, already in the very first chapter, I offer a solution for clearing the patterns that guide our behavior. We tend to think negatively—about ourselves, about life, about others—and this negative thinking acts like a virus, much like a computer virus.

Clearing subconscious beliefs about ourselves—such as I am not good enough, I don’t deserve happiness, or everything is pointless—is the first step toward self-love.

In the book When We Are on Hormones, you will learn right at the beginning how to clear subconscious beliefs about yourself. In the following chapters, I guide you through the hormonal centers and teach you how to nourish each one individually.

I HELP YOU, dear woman,

build a healthy self-image, start taking care of yourself with love, and finally live a happy, healthy, and successful life.

Throu the book When We Are on Hormones, I will teach you the key steps I took to clear my negative self-beliefs, to release the fear of lack and the fear of loss (love, financial security), to stop pleasing everyone except myself, and to create a life that fulfills me and supports me in every decision I make.
